The Young Economists' Meeting 2017 will take place on June 1-2 in Brno. Join us for a friendly research conference! Come along to discuss your research and meet like-minded young researchers. The deadline for paper submission is March 31, 2017. Those whose papers are accepted will be notified by April 14, 2017. Please submit your research under one of the following conference tracks:

  • Behavioral and Experimental Economics
  • Labor Economics
  • Finance

Keynote speakers

David Masclet is Professor at the University of Rennes 1 and research fellow at the CREM and CIRANO (University of Montreal).  His fields of research include public economics (public goods, tax compliance) labor economics, and personnel economics. He is a founding member and President of the French Association of Experimental Economics and an associate editor of Social Choice and Welfare.  David ranks among top 5% authors by RePEc.


Štěpán Jurajda is Professor at CERGE-EI in Prague and research fellow at IZA. His research focuses on international wage comparisons, gender differences in the labor market and in education. He published in Economics of Education Review, Economics of Transition, Journal of Comparative Economics or Labor Economics.

Best Paper Award

Young economists below the age of 35 may submit their papers for the Best Paper Award (a prize of 5000 CZK). Winning paper is chosen by a committee including members of the Programme Committee and the keynote speaker(s). Single-authored papers will be given priority in selection for the award.

Conference fee and funding

There is no fee for conference participants. We offer travel grants to help participants cover their travel costs and accommodation in Brno. Participants from nearby countries may receive 50 EUR and others 100 EUR travel grant.  Participants will be paid at the conference.

Publication of papers

After the conference we will encourage researchers to submit their papers to the peer reviewed journal Review of Economic Perspectives. All submissions go through a regular refereeing process and the deadline for submissions (to be published in Winter 2017) is June 30, 2017.
